Born in Coleman, Texas (near Brownwood) in 1952, I was raised in Burleson, Texas (just south of Fort Worth) and graduated from Burleson High School in 1970. I attended and graduated from Tarleton State University (Stephenville, Texas) with a Bachelor of Music Education degree in December of 1974. I taught in public schools for four years as a band director and elementary music teacher in Moody, Texas. As a band director, I received the call to ordained ministry and decided to follow that call by attending Perkins School of Theology on the campus of Southern Methodist University. I graduated in 1985 with a Master of Theology degree. I have currently served nearly 25 years in ordained ministry through the United Methodist Church. |
