Building with the Power of the Carpenter
Relay for Life 2010Relay for Life is an American Cancer Society function held every year all over the World. The Bay Area Relay has made a real contribution to the overall success each year. The Bay Area Relay has been #1 in Texas 9 years in a row and
#1 in High Plains Division (6 states + Guam) for 3 years in a row. In 2009 The Bay Area Relay raised
$763,158 and over it's 12 year history has raised
$5.2 million, WOW. You can see why St. Mark's is excited to be a part of this monumental effort.
Last year as we began the celebration, the rain began (no, make that torrential rain ....noooo, it was the biggest, humongous, downpour ever seen) just as the main party began. Pray for no rain April 23-34.....We will continue our 2009 theme "Making Tracks for a Cure", again in 2010. Don’t be left at the station. There’s a seat waiting for you on the St. Mark’s/Stepping Stones team train. We are heading toward our goal of $7,500, and we can’t do it without you.
If you want to join St. Mark's in reaching our goal, first open this document (several pages of step-by-step registration information) and see how easy it is to register with our team. Once you register, there are multiple fund raising ideas on-line. If you raise $1000 in donations, you get a special T-Shirt. The on-line donation experience is better than ever. Enlist the support of everyone you know. Ask your co-workers, friends, neighbors, and family to donate to our trip as we roll along working toward ending cancer’s threat. You will have a great time while you help fight cancer.
You can find so much information on the Bay Area Relay for Life Website. (if that link doesn't work, copy and paste www.bayarearelay.org into your browser search bar,) If you have a few moments, take some time and explore what is going on at Relay for Life.
The Celebration for Relay for Life 2010 will be at Stallworth Stadium beginning on Friday evening April 23, 6:00 p.m. and will run all night till Saturday morning April 24, 8:00 a.m.
