Worshiping at St. Mark's

 St. Mark’s Worship

We have three worship services every Sunday morning, one at 8:30 a.m. and two at 10:45 a.m. Our two worship services can be described as traditional, with some blending of contemporary praise songs. The third is contemporary in style with a band and is very casual. It's called the Refuge (click here for more information) and is being held in the Activity Center.

Our traditional worship services consist of hymns of faith (both old and new), creeds, and other formal acts of worship. The gathering of Christians in worship has been ongoing for 2,000 years, and history is important in the understanding and worship of God. God graciously accepts all praise and adoration that comes from the heart. All age groups are part of our worship services.

We have a Children’s Message in the 10:45 a.m. traditional worship service, normally given by a staff member. Children are then dismissed to the children’s church programs of Kid Tricity (1st-5th graders) and Lil' Lambs (3 yrs.-kindergarten). The children return during the last segment of the worship service. We have recently expanded our children’s message to include the 8:30 a.m. service.

Special worship services include:

  • Hanging of the Greens – Advent
  • Christmas and Easter cantatas
  • Christmas Eve Candlelight services
  • Ash Wednesday
  • Maundy Thursday
  • Palm Sunday
  • Easter Sunday
  • All Saints Sunday
  • Blessing of the Children
  • Scout Sunday
  • UMW Sunday
  • Healing services (in most months with 5 Sundays)

The music portions of our traditional worship services include:

  • Organ and piano accompaniment and solos by David Sanders
  • Chancel Choir, under the direction of Mel Stone
  • Hand Bell Choir (primarily during Easter and Christmas seasons) directed by Mel Stone
  • Children’s Choir (special occasions during the year) directed by Susan Lockett and Yuri Gonzales

Holy Communion is served on the first Sunday of each month in the 10:45 a.m.service, every Sunday in the 8:30 a.m. service and on other special occasions.

The sacrament of Baptism may be administered to infants, youth, or adults at our worship services. (Please call the church office to schedule an appointment with the Pastor to discuss this.)

We invite you to come and worship with us.
